First, I just wanted to say – I’m thankful for you. I’m thankful for all of my fans and online friends, for all of my spelling bee friends who took their time that could have been used to eat burritos to read my posts, and for my Tae Kwon Do friends who for some reason think I’m a person worth knowing.
Thank you for always brightening up my day! Thank you for liking my posts and leaving nice comments, and thank you for being there for me when I’m down. Thank you for consistently being kind.
I really love this blog and all of my online accounts, so I’m thankful that I found out about the online accounts I have, including this blog.
I’m thankful that I have such a great family who is always there for me.
I’m grateful that my friend took me and my other friend to a perfect spot for a photoshoot (photos up soon from that.)
I’m grateful that I get to go to Tae Kwon Do and my homeschool co-op! I’m grateful for being Catholic, I’m grateful for an amazing birthday last week, and I’m grateful that I got to spend time with relatives today!
I’m grateful that I have a new phone because my old one broke! I’m grateful that I can post on my blog. I’m grateful that I’m discovering so many new things about life, and that I get to read my favorite book series, Keeper of the Lost Cities.
I’m grateful for my book club at my homeschool co-op. I’m grateful that you’re reading this right now.
Thank you for everything! ❤
Tell me in the comments what you’re thankful for! I’d love to hear it!
Also, I’m sorry about the short post today. I’ll write a longer one hopefully soon! Until then, have an amazing day and read Keeper of the Lost Cities nOW.
Well, hello. This is the first post I’m writing as an 11 year old.
The 20th was amazing. I enjoyed all of the day! Some of my homeschooled friends and I had cupcakes and then I went to Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do was fun, because I got to hang out with most of my friends there.
I got some AMAZING presents from all of my friends, relatives and parents, and I’m really happy about what I got! I got a new phone instead of a camera for my BIG present, because my old phone overheated a month ago. I’m really happy that I got a new phone, and I’m thankful to my parents for it!
This is a short update, but Thanksgiving is coming soon, so expect a long one! Thank you for reading!! ❤ ❤ 😀
Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog! As you all know, yesterday was Halloween and I’m SO happy! I went as a Victorian Vampiress, and it was really awesome. Me and my friends went to the spookiest street in our city, and it was awesome. Here’s a picture:
It’s November now, which means – 20 DAYS UNTIL MY BIRTHDAY! I am literally SO excited, I cannot wait! This is why November is my favorite month of the year!!!! 😀 I’m hoping to get some good things for my birthday!
November also means an increase in spelling words, so that’s…great. It takes me a while to finish studying, but it’s totally worth it because I know so many words now.
(who am i kidding, i’m an idiot)
So, you might be wondering now – what did I decide to do to my hair…
Well, I took polls on all the social media I have, and asked all of my friends. It was a very, VERY close vote between cutting my hair and highlighting it…
The answer is…
*more suspenseful noises*
*hehehehehe i’m killing you aren’t i*
I AM GOING TO BE DYING MY HAIR!
My parents say I can get blond highlights – I am SO excited. And the best thing is, they say it can be permanent!
This does come with conditions, like that I’m not going to get my roots touched up every few weeks due to breakage in my hair. The only time I can get my hair touched up is when I want to look my best, like the spelling bee next year.
So why blond and not blue? And why permanent and not temporary?
Well, my friends said that a natural color would look better on my hair, and my parents are ok with permanent dye. I’m super excited!
Also for my birthday, I hope to get a hair straightener, because my hair is generally really tangled and messy and curly. Hopefully I can learn to use a hair straightener without killing myself, but that’s probably not going to happen.
And of course, part of my birthday is a dessert! (not cake this year!!!)
Let me just tell you, I’m such a bad cook, I found a way to burn soup.
Anyway, I will talk to you all soon! Sorry I’ve been so inactive 🙂
I know I’ve been doing a lot of non-lifestyle stuff lately, and that seemed to get pretty well received (between my very, very small amount of followers haha). But I have also had so, so much going on in life recently. I don’t even know where to begin.
First of all, for those of you new followers / readers, you’ll probably not know that my mom’s expecting – due in January! It’s a boy!!!
But for those of you who do, she’s been having more and more ultrasounds, and everything seems to be going well! I can’t wait to welcome my…um…THIRD little brother into the family. That’s quite a lot of brothers! 😂I haven’t even seen him in real life yet and I already love him so much!! In January, prepare for quite a lot of baby pictures and posts.
But yeah, everything’s fine with the baby and I love that.
In other words, well, Tae Kwon Do is going great. This new belt that I’m at has been really fun. I’m seeing old faces every day and connecting with new people that I vaguely knew from before. And a fun little thing – the old class bullies have become quite nice. We don’t know each other too well, but we’re getting to! Grandma, I know you’re reading this – text me who you think it is! And for those of you who do know me, either text me if you have my number or just guess random names in the comments. I won’t mind!
Also in Tae Kwon Do, my 7 year old brother will be testing next week! If he passes (I know he will) it’ll make two Tae Kwon Do graduations in two months! The tests are held every month so that’s basically two in a row.
If he passes, he’ll be testing to green belt, which is my third favorite belt. Someday my brother will catch up to me…
And no, I’m still way, way, way taller than him. I really need to enjoy that while it lasts.
That was a very long Tae Kwon Do rant, so here’s the other parts of my life.
BUT. Before we get there, I’d like to share a last-few-days-of-summer photo!
This was taken by my 5 year old brother on my phone. As some of you may know, I’m really excited for the used GoPro I’m hopefully going to get on my birthday, and it’ll produce way better LANDSCAPE and NON-BLURRY photos. Tell me what you think about this photo in the comments. Is it good? Is it bad? I’d love to hear your opinions.
OK, so back to the life outside of Tae Kwon Do.
Wednesday, October 2 shall be marked as the heroic day that my brother forgot to add water to his mac and cheese. This resulted in a lot of smoke. We had to evacuate the house, it was so bad. Then of course, because my brother and I are just amazing human beings, we opened Spotify on our devices and played the song “Burn The House Down [Clean]” by AJR. We were all on our front porch, so the neighbors just really stared.
And I brought my devices and my spelling studying stuff so I got a lot of studying done while my brothers ran about the block screaming about how there was so much smoke and oh they’re going to die and purposely making it so overly dramatic. Luckily, no police were called. 🙄
I’m going to start voice lessons soon – I’m super excited. This way, I can have training for when my first home recorded album, Take, comes out on December 1, 2019. Mark your calendars so you can hear me attempt to sing.
In the neighborhood, I’d say everything’s going well. My friends are all doing good. There are a few people who I haven’t seen in a while who I really want to talk to soon, so I’m going to text them on Friday to see what they’re up to – possible movie night!
This post has been long for my posts, so I’m going to say goodbye for now and please note – this will be edited. The original draft was at 1:20 am, so it’s not going to make that much sense. Don’t ever talk to sleep-deprived me.
Have a wonderful day / night, and today’s #dailyactofgood (I’ll explain this in an upcoming post) is to give one friend a handwritten note saying something nice about them.
Hi guys! I’m back, sorry for not posting for a while – it’s been such a long few days. Today, I’m going to tell you what’s been going on in my life, and some great Halloween decoration ideas.
Tae Kwon Do has been AMAZING. This belt was well worth the wait. I’ve been reconnecting with some friends of mine from before, and practicing my new curriculum. It’s super amazing to be at this new belt. 😀
Now, I’ve really wanted to rank Halloween decorations, and I think I can now safely say – it’s sorta getting into HALLOWEEN SEASON. People are talking about costumes, someone I know even has theirs already, the pumpkin spice ads are going up, pumpkins are for sale but no one’s bought them yet…
Here is a list of my favorite Halloween decorations:
Spiderwebs. These can be really realistic or obviously fake, but they definitely make the Halloween experience amazing.
Tombstones. These are SO. COOL. I don’t even know how we got through so many Halloweens without them. Tombstones for the win, guys. LIKE THIS IF YOU AGREE.
Pumpkins. You knew they would be somewhere – pumpkins are amazing. They’re literally one of the most iconic things in Halloween, and I LOVE carving jack-o-lanterns with my friends.
Skeletons. These are okay, just not my favorite. But again, another classic Halloween thing.
Spiders. I have arachnophobia, but these are honestly genius. Go spiders!
Fake blood. This can be SUPER messy if you step in it, but honestly it gives me a Halloween feel.
That’s all the decorations I could think of, comment down below if you think of any more!
Next up – I took this excellent picture that just feels so…fall to me.
This photo is courtesy of my 5 year old brother Ferdy who is actually a great photographer.
Guys. Help. Summer is gone!!! I can’t believe it – it goes by so fast!! How the heck did this happen?!?!?! Today was the LAST day of the pool – soon Birkenstocks will be gone too….luckily mine will fit me next year. For sure.
And all the other summery things are going away too! For example, the summer wreath we had on our door. The flowers…the vacations…the beach…it’s now officially fall.
OK, so Topic #2: what do I think about the VSCO trend?
For those of you who don’t know, there’s a trend going around based on VSCO girls – just google it, I can’t explain it…
Save the turtles – This one I fully support. Come on guys – save the turtles! I don’t use a metal straw though, so I guess I’m not really acting on the idea…
Overlarge shirts as dresses – Sorry, but this one I hate. I just feel like it’s so weird and odd to be wearing something that isn’t meant to be a dress as a dress. I just can’t pull it off. Sorry guys!!
Seashell necklace – Maybe. I mean, it depends on the occasion. I’m SO not a jewelry person, but when I’m going somewhere nice, it’s pretty cool to have a cute necklace. So, yeah, sometimes.
Birkenstocks – Guilty. These shoes are so comfy and stylish – well worth the price. OK, MAYBE they’re my favorite pair of shoes EVER. VSCO girls have it completely right with these. GOOD CHOICE GUYS.
Scrunchies – I’m sorry but no. I own TWO scrunchies from when I was still a gymnast. These fall RIGHT out of my hair, and wearing like 20 on my wrists is just cumbersome. They’re just not good for me. I don’t pull it off well. But hey, on others they look amazing. I have nothing against VSCO girls, I just wouldn’t want to be one.
Sksksksksk & And I oop- – No. Just no. Sometimes they’re fun to say, but I find it annoying to constantly say them in conversation. Sorry guys!! 😦
Mario Badescu stuff – Haven’t tried it. I have no opinion – it could be good, might not be. I’m hoping it’s good at least.
Hair in a bun – Maybe, I like keeping my hair down, but this doesn’t seem like a must for VSCO girls, sooooo….
And of course – the VSCO app – I honestly don’t know. Haven’t tried it yet, if it’s good then sure, I like it.
Hydroflasks and friendship bracelets – No opinion. Any water bottle is good water bottle. Friendship bracelets, well they’re really cute, I just don’t have a thing for jewelry.
OK, that’s all the VSCO related things I can think of- comment more if you have one I didn’t include. My overall take on VSCO – I am NOT a VSCO girl, but I don’t care if anyone else is. You guys are beautiful as VSCO girls, it really just isn’t my thing at all.
Next up: Yesterdaywas the FIRST day of Tae Kwon Do at my new belt – ahhh!!!
OK, so overall………IT WAS SO GREAT!! For all of you reading this…hi Kate….who want to get to 1st brown belt someday, it was totally worth the wait. Totally. 1st brown belt is really fun and to be honest – I wish I had tested like 5 months earlier. I love it so, so much!
My next class at this belt is tomorrow – or Wednesday. Wish me luck because this is so amazing. It’s so nice to see people who I knew at my previous belt.
After my class, I really wanted to wait for my friends at 2nd brown (my old belt) so me and Anah waited for our friends Kate, Keya, and Will. It was their 2nd class and it was nice to catch up with them because our schedule isn’t that correlated.
SOOOOO….overall – this has been my favorite belt so far. Comment down below if you want to see a few pictures besides this one from graduation on Friday:
This amazing photo was taken right after I was awarded my belt. I was shaking hands with my instructor, Master Pineda. The side of my hair shown is the one without the green stripe at the time.
I really enjoy Tae Kwon Do, and I just found out that I know all the curriculum for this belt already from a seminar I go to on Sundays with black belts, which is nice. No curriculum to memorize, so this belt is about improving my technique.
Thank you for reading – my French is waiting for me, and I have way too much spelling.
Hello human beings and aliens! Welcome or welcome back to my blog and thank you for reading! Last night was my Tae Kwon Do graduation – I graduated to the last belt before black. And OF COURSE I have an update on it – why? Because that’s the job of this blog.
The format of a graduation is basically, everyone graduating to all different belts performs their form, which is a set of moves designed to be an imaginary fight, or their combinations, another set of moves designed to be an imaginary fight, but in a different way. At my old belt, the one that I left behind at graduation last night, we got a musical form, which is like an imaginary fight set to music. At this belt, I actually know some of the curriculum because of a thing I do on Sundays with black belts! At least I have a heads up going into the hardest belt there is…
But anyway, after all the belts have performed, we have a potluck. My family always brings pizza because it’s the easiest, but no one knows who brings it. It’s actually hilarious to see certain people whom I don’t like and happen to be graduating with me eating pizza they don’t know is from me. And after the potluck, which usually goes extremely late, we head back home and secretly get more food as a family. It’s really awesome.
This graduation, I decided to make a statement, and I went with a green and silver stripe in my hair. It was amazing. Pics should be up soon.
Unfortunately, the brown belts didn’t get to perform Exodus because of a mistake in scheduling. I’m kinda disappointed, but all it means is at the next test I get to, because I’ll be graduating to black belt.
But for now, I’ll enjoy the new belt I have – it’s amazing.
This graduation was really sad for me, for one because it was the last graduation before black belt. Where did the carefree gold belt days go? 😭
It was also really sad because the 1st Brown classes (my new belt) are way different from my old belt’s classes. And two of my absolute best friends at Tae Kwon Do graduated to that belt tonight, as well as another one of my best friends at Tae Kwon Do, who was already at that belt. I’m really sad because I’m not going to be able to talk to them as much.
Luckily, I have my friend Anah going to 1st Brown with me – we’re equally nervous. I can’t wait to see everyone that I knew at 2nd Brown – a bunch of people I know are already there, so that’s awesome!
It’s strange – I should be happy, but I miss being the 7 year old white belt who couldn’t do a sidekick. I miss when one of my BFFs Eleanor started Tae Kwon Do but had to quit when she moved. I miss when I fought with someone I knew over something so unimportant, I don’t even remember what it was.
I guess it’s time for new beginnings, and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday at Tae Kwon Do. Hopefully I don’t mess up TOO badly.
Thanks for reading! Got to do yet more spelling! Bye!! ❤ ❤ ❤ 😀 😀 😀
Ever seen a girl with crazyyyy hair? Like dyed blue, really punky cut, and smashing mascara, eyeshadow and eyeliner to go with it? Here’s an example:
Well, I always wanted to be one of those girls. I’ve never been happy with my “boring” brown hair, and the girl above is SO gorgeous, in my honest opinion. I feel like I’ve always wanted to turn heads when I walk down the street – don’t you think this would TOTALLY do it?
(compliments to your amazing eye makeup, blue hair girl!)
In the picture, she has the blue eyes to go with the look, but you know, I’m grateful for my brown eyes. They might be common, but I like them.
Anyway, today I had some friends and we did some temp hair coloring. (it washes off after a shower) I had tried this yesterday and the day before – here are some pics:
Day 2 of hair coloring:
So yeah, those were a #fail on looking like Blue Hair Girl up there – but I like it so far! My mom said that soon I can get temporary highlights in my hair that stay in for like 30 days.
And I took this amazing photo on the way to my friends’ house.
In other words – I HIT 1000!!! I HIT 1000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I. FRICKING. HIT. 1000. VIEWSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For most of you big bloggers, this probably isn’t that much, but for me – the 10 year old blogger who just started this for fun – this is the best day of my life!!! Well, actually, not sure about that, but it’s one of the better ones.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for returning to my blog, guys. It means so much to me. I love you all SO much!!
Also – I have a friend, she’s supported me through so much, she’s followed this blog since I told her what it was, she’s done SO much…Her name is Violetta, folks. And she’s starting a YouTube channel. Here’s the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQfxSjTrGszlbawc80Q1ang/featured. Subscribe to her, please! Help her dreams come true, just like you helped me achieve mine.
She hopes to post videos soon, so be subscribed when she does.
I got an Internet Ban from my parents because I was spending “too much time on the computer / phone” and I won’t be posting as frequently as before.
There’s also a lot of chaos going on in my life with Tae Kwon Do. Yep. I said it. I’m on the testing list again – all I need is the last achievement tape before I can test. WHICH I HAVE!!!! more on that later
This Friday, I have another sleepover with friends from Tae Kwon Do. Hopefully I’ll get some nice pictures ❤
As of this Monday, I am officially recording my first ever album on the website scratch.mit.edu. My account is @-CharLight- on Scratch. To record, I’ll be using a microphone and GarageBand. The album title is “Take” and it will be out on December 1.
I also want to say – Tuesday, August 27, was officially the day…
I GOT MY TAPE! I’m crying tears of joy and I am so, so happy that I will be testing for my next belt this month.
In addition, some of you may notice, I’ve changed my blog theme! It has also been…drumroll…1 MONTH since I started this blog.
I didn’t post anything for a while, but it’s been one month since I saw someone I knew’s blog and decided, “Hey, what if I could do it too? What if I could blog like this?”
And now, 1 month later, I have 800+ hits (THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!) 13 followers, and SO many comments, likes, and other things too!
Thank you to all my loyal subscribers for being here with me, doing this with me, critiquing my posts, liking, commenting, and everything else you do for me! ❤ ❤
I hope to someday be a big blogger – and I hope to someday finally win the National Spelling Bee, be a black belt, and go to a great college!
Coming up – I’m turning 11 years old in November (shocked? yes, i’m young. you can unsub and i won’t care because HATERS GONNA HATE!) – Charlotte, triggered. Sorry about that.
Anyway, I’ll be turning 11 years old on November 20!
Hopefully I will post more in a few days if this internet ban gets lifted. ❤ you all are the best!!
Please, have a GREAT day (you deserve it!) and today’s challenge for my most loyal viewers is to tell a friend about this blog!
I will hopefully be posting soon, and I hope you enjoy your night / day, wherever you are! I ❤ you guys! 😀
